Moving Titles Effects?

Postby WaningGibbous on Mon Mar 12, 2012 2:22 pm

Hello everyone,

I upgraded to X5 ultimate. I previously installed Title Packs 5 -7 into X4. When I try to install them into X5 it shows as being already installed.

So, can I just copy and paste them in Windows Explorer from X4 to X5 (I still have X4 installed) or what do I need to do?

Sorry I guess I wasnt explicit. I looked all over in X4 directories, cant find these titles. What are the extensions so I can search for them or where are they at?

Hi

Strange that X5 shows them as installed?

The easiest way --- using X4 drag all title clips you need to the timeline.
Use Shift + Click to select adjacent/all clips.
Note X4 came with 24 titles, each installed Title Pack added 10 titles.

Save the project.

Open the project using X5
Drag the titles to the library, may take a while to load.

Now save the library, just in case?
Settings Library Manager – Export library.

--------------

The library title file is called VS_Title.dat
Found here
C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro\14.0\en-US
At one time we could simply move this file from one version to another, however moving/modifying the system files in X4/5 may cause the program to fail. So take care. The approach above is the safest way.

Thank you for the reply,

I also found extra .dat files here and a bunch of sub folders.
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Pro X4\Ulead.dat\UpdateGallery\VS_Title.dat\VS_Title_20091113.dat

de-DE\VS_Title_20091113.dat and a bunch more...

These are not in my X5 install. But I'm reluctant to copy them to X5.

I emailed support cause it seems odd to me too the it shows them as already install in X5.

Hi

Any files in C:\Program Files\Corel\ should be left alone.

Did you use the Project option to transfer the clips from X4 to X5.
that is the safest way........

Thank you for your followup on this. I'm waiting to see if support can fix this before I make any changes.

Here's an update:
To address my original question the name of the title packs are: DoMore_Title_05.exe (06, 07, etc.)

On Vista are downloaded to: C:\ProgramData\Corel\Downloads\540244232_107013\1289374189847\DoMore_Title_05.exe

I'm guessing they are extracted somewhere in: C:\ProgramData\Corel\Downloads\

Support never was any help. I've been all this time trying to get them to understand what the problem was. Today is the 16th.

Thank you all for your time.
