I am quite happy to pay for and have your plugin - that is not the issue. If the problems are just me then I can investigate this. I am not concerned about being upset rather just reporting as I find. I know that you will fix things so I will see how others find it. Thanks for the offer but I bought based on what will be and that applies to ASP as well!

Hi, just an update -- Nuance 1.0.7 is now available. This corrects the locale-sensitive settings issue. Your current settings should work but in the future settings and presets you create will not be locale-sensitive. Download it from my page at http://nexi.com/afplugs

ALSO! Here are updated presets from earlier in the thread that will work (only with 1.0.7) on all machines, including two more presets: Faded Glory (pushed exposure, desaturated except for skin tones) and Skewed (contrasty, hue and tint alterations, intentionally somewhat 'wrong' looking).

Firelight, Ice Queen, Matrix
Polaroid, Faded Glory, Skewed

Edit: see a few posts down for updated file.

Hi Sean!

It seems as the two new presets work out of the box, while the four "old" ones unfortunately still do not work as they are. The format of the settings in the XMP files differ:

Faded Glory, Skewed:
Nuance_settings="-`XI`IQ`JB`OW_xT`A{`fZa@@`@@`@@;-`jb`JX` etc

Firelight, Ice Queen, Matrix, Polaroid:
Nuance_settings="0,0.377300,0.144800,0.156800,0.130000,0.19000, etc

The files afx prepared (dots---->commas) work still nicely here in my Mandriva linux box - with the new plugin, version 1.0.7.

Look again.
The two new ones in the ZIP work like a charm independently of system locale setting. The four old ones are still encoded in US ASCII and therefore still do not work on a German system. Guess there was a packaging error...

What is this (...XI`IQ`JB`OW_xT`A{`fZa@@`@@`@@;-`jb`JX` ...) ?
any help ?

Binary encoding that makes it all locale independent...

Yes, the zip of 6 presets was incorrect. I'm getting quite a reputation for poor release testing.

Screen-Shot-2012-02-18-at-1.03.37-PM.jpg

To make up for it, here's all six plus two more, Memory and Mysterium, all in the new 1.0.8 format. Memory flattens out blues and purples and lightens and saturates reds and yellows. Mysterium lightens blues and greens and adds some deep purple to the shadows, and does some contrast enhancement too.

Edit 2: Please see later on in thread for a zip file containing all presets. I enjoy making them!

Edit: Nuance is now at version 1.0.8 to deal with a rare compatibility issue with presets. The bug shouldn't affect settings on current images, only if a preset was created and then applied for some rare data values. You can download it from my site or from Corel's plug-in directory. Thanks for your patience.

Thanks for your presets - I have used them on some picture I took at exhibitions in vienna
( Henri Cartier-Bresson, Glen Murcutt). I used firelight on mostly all pictures at HCB and used "Ice Queen" and "Faded Glory" on a layer on a picture at GM

The new preset "memory" also changes white balance from "as shot" to "click white" (?)
so if changing to "firelight" again you don't get what you expect ...

Apparently I quite enjoy creating presets for Nuance.

Screen-Shot-2012-02-19-at-11.21.26-AM.jpg

Day for Night simulates the look of B-movie productions when they stuck a stacked polarizer on the camera and shot night scenes outside during the day. Very high contrast, very dark, purple-bluish, except for highlight tones which rack right up to pure white. The contrast is really high on this one; use ASP's exposure slider to adjust where the highlight break begins.

Ayers Rock is a vibrant preset that really pushes up the oranges, yellows and reds and a bit of magenta while keeping sky blue rich and saturated, and keeping white pure and crystalline. There's also some contrast in the shadows and a slight cooling to counter the warmth in the midtones. This is a good landscape preset but be careful it doesn't oversaturate the reds too much. Just check the patch map and reduce the appropriate colour sliders if it seems to go too far with your particular image.

The attached file includes all previous presets. (I checked Memory, and it doesn't seem to have a click-white in it.)

there is something which disappear between B5 Brenda and ASP with Nuance. Before it was possible to click on the patch (current patch adjustement) in order to modify the color the lightness via a palette. This feature is not there anymore. Will it be back in the future or it might reappear on day ? :D

Thanks for the answer and also thank you for this plugin

Hi Sean, noticed that Nuance uses the Gretag colors by you and it brought flashback of using ClairePRO in Bibble 4 ... it was great to use in studio work ... any chance if it being resurrected ?
