[BUGs] The DEL [and INS] Key

Postby Tadjio on Sat Feb 11, 2012 11:48 pm

Tonight I used the DEL Key with catastrophic results
I knew that Deleting was bug-ridden but in this case I watched through and realised what is happening.
I flagged 5 Images as 'Reject' and selected them.
I clicked on the first one and pressed DEL.
Instead of that one being deleted, it was the next one, which I found in the recycle-bin with its .xmp and a .nocache entry.
Pressing Ctrl+Z "Undo Remove version" restored it correctly.

If I had not noticed, I would have lost my Raw Image Masters

I have reported it to the Survery Monkey and I hope others will do the same.

EDIT: Also noted the INS Key Bug

Hi Tadjo,

seems you just hit the same bug ... [BUG] ASP deletes wrong file(s) ?!.
And yesterday I had a similar effect when I wanted to create a new version of a file by <INS> key.

First I had selected 2 files in MultiImage mode, then I selected another (different) file, thus the previously selected got unselected and the single selected file was loaded and shown. Then I pressed <INS> to create a new version of this newly selected and already loaded and shown file, BUT one of the files from previous selection (one out of the two) got a new version, NOT the one which I´m actively working on at this time ?!?!?!

To me as a SW-developer it looks like there are multiple instances of "what is the current selected file" in the SW ... and some of them do not get updated or the update is really delayed by long time due to whatever ....
I hope they find and fix it soon.

cheers
Markus

I am seriously worried about commiting my DAM Assets to ASP.
Do your issues happen with the Library Catalog or the File System?
Mine occured with the File System.
I have added INS Key Bug to the Thread Title.

Hi,

today I observed the issue again while playing a bit with one of my lenses (that´s why the pictures show such stupid content).
Had multiple files selected, exported them.
Then I selected a single file .... did some adjustments and exported it with <CTRL>+<s> .... O.K.
Then I hit the <INS> key to create a new version of the file I just exported (and is still selected and visible for editing) .... BUT the new version was created for a different file (one out of the group of multiple files that have been exported before).

Refer attached screenshot schowing that I´m editing IMG_5912.CR2, but the status-bar shows IMG_5933_v2.CR2 ?!
IMG_5933_v2.CR2 is the last file of the group of images I worked on before I started editing IMG_5912.
And in fact the <INS> key created IMG_5933_v3.CR2 as new version. Any adjustments in the settings got applied to IMG_5933_v3.CR2 while IMG_5912 is shown in the UI and IMG_5933_v2 is reported in the status-bar ?!

So, maybe just watch the status-bar if it´s in line with the selection .... or hope for some bugfix/update.

Note: ASP V1.0.1.10 on OpenSuse 11.4 (32bit)
