AfterShot Pro showoffs

Postby tomsi42 on Fri Feb 03, 2012 9:54 pm

Since there is no dedicated Showoff sub-forum for photos, I suggest that we have in the meantime a thread where we show our best efforts. And this is the thread.

I don't like many rules, so let's keep it simple.

  • You must be the photographer.
  • The photo must have been processed in AfterShot Pro - use any plugin you want.
  • You can link to the photo, if you don't want to upload it here. But remember to not delete that photo any time soon - people would like to see it for some time ;)
  • If you have something interesting to say about the photo, please do so.

Oh, no. Another Cat Picture...

I love the Layers Manager in ASP. I've always struggled with layers in PSE and PSP, but I find them very easy to use in ASP.
Here's our new cat, Willis (What's you talkin' 'bout, Willis!?) converted to B&W, vignette added and increased green saturation with the Layers Manager. Frame added in Picasa 3. Are there any frames or borders plugins for ASP?

I've posted a bunch of floral shots I did yesterday on flickr, and tagged them AfterSotPro, so they can be easily found: http://flickr.com/-cr/tags/AfterShotPro

If you go to one of those links, then in the top right of the same screen, a number of other plug-ins for ASP are listed. The first link 'Re Eye Removal' I don't think is available (compatibility?) but if you follow the link, it takes you to three pages of plug-ins, including some by other authors.

yeah, the red eye remover is currently available for bibble5 only. it will take some time to port this to asp, but it is still on my to-do-list....

While it's true red eye removal can be done using methods previously described the process is a bit more time consuming when many people in a photo have red eye. This was the case when a family member recently sent me file to edit.

Around the time of the Corel purchase ( I took advantage of the $20 offer) I read about Sagelight Editor, an editing program I was not familiar with. There is a 30 day trial so I gave it a try. This is not a review of the entire program but I mention Sagelight only in reference to red eye removal. Using Sagelight it literally took me seconds to get rid of all the red eye in the photo I mentioned above. I ended up buying Sagelight as there are some things I do like about it (and some I don't which the developer says he is addressing for the next major upgrade).

Framing, vignetting and 'old fashioned' filtering here...

-- not sure why the xmp suffix is not allowed here as attachment
... one of the useful things to do in a Bibble/ASP forum is to swap xmp files! :(
Nor is the txt suffix ....
nor is an image like suffix

If anyone wants it let me know and I will post it as an emedded message
from the Bibble stable - mostly OLY+W7

Not to rain on the parade, guys, but the idea behind this thread is photos, not what's available in ASP or not. So try to keep those discussion low and create own threads instead.

Regarding attachements, I think it's JPEG's only. And only at a relatively small size.

And now for something completely different; can I invite you on a trip to the beach? (air temperature around -10 centigrade ...)

Here's a couple I came up with while learning some plugins(Nostalgia [free version], Grain, and Equalizer). I don't normally do this dramatic type of processing, so this was fun.
