+1.
We will need to examine removing this limitation for all file types with the new cameras that are just released or about to be released. Their RAW files will blow that easily.
Still learning after all these years!

Additionally I would love to have an option to show the master file. In Apple Aperture I can press M to see the original.

wacom pressure sensitivity would be nice (even if i work pretty well without it already)

I would love:

Grad filter (like the grad filter pro plugin in Bibble)
Expanded and well maintained lens correction database (distortion and CA) or some internal tool to easily create lens profiles
Fixed highlight recovery (no magenta anymore please)
Engine that does not overdo the mid tones or blow up highlights
Improved external tool handling (something that could export a stack to photomatix)
Improved layer and selection UI
Lightroom plugin compatibility (esp. Nik Software plugins)

EDIT (just thinking):
iPad support
Printing improvements (UI similar to the rest of ASP)
Re-arranging tools in right toolbar
Dockable layer window
Cataloging offline pictures
Large TIFF support (for panoramas)

Thanks in advance and good luck with ASP!

Something to add to the bug list - I added a bunch of output batches but can't get the list to expand to fit the Batch Output window. I can make the window bigger (sometimes :? ) but the length of the list remains the same (complete with scroll bar).

Also if the Batch Output is pinned & I switch to File System the size of the pinned window changes back to its default size (although it does return to the adjusted size when I switch back to Output). It stays the adjusted size if I switch to the Library tab.

Regards

Rick.

This is a great start, and eventually I'll end up using ASP as my DAM. BUT you need to have ASP recognize .PSPIMAGE files created in X4 or I really cannot figure out a workflow. There are good filtering and keyword tools, but ASP has to be better integrated with X4.

My personal wishlist, ordered according to priority:

1) Improved stability and better debug logging.
AS crashes/freezes often, and the debug log indicates nothing at all as to what happened. 64 bit arch linux system.

2) Bibble style Color Labels
The color labels in Bibble were really useful because it was very easy to see what image had what color label, because the entire background square for that image had that color. In Aftershot the color label is a tiny detail, and it is very difficult to see color labels at a glance. I want the old color labels back, and if I could define my own colors and color labels that would be even better.

3) Albums
I would like to be able to create albums. Think of albums like a normal folder, but instead of actually containing the image/version like a regular folder, the album folder contains references to images/versions already stored in different folders. For example, for a vaction that lasts several days I will have one folder containing pictures for each day. But to make viewing easy I will want to create an album containing some photos (but not all of them) from each vacation day. And when I make an adjustment to one of the photos, this adjustment should naturally be immediately visible in the album as well.

Another use could be an album that contains all pictures of architecture. Or an album that contains the favorite pictures. The possibilities are endless.

I realize that a lot of this can be accomplished using keywords, but for some things it would be great to have a quick solution that doesn't require adding a separate keyword and then searching for it later.

Alternatively, this could work if one could save metadata searches. So if I chose to display all images that have one or more specific keywords, let me save that search for future use and give it a name (similar to saved searches in thunderbird, if you use that). This could be a great way to work with albums.

4) Advanced metata search
It would be nice to be able to make advanced keyword or metadata queries. Something like "All images with keyword landscape and keyword lake, but not the keyword ice".

5) Re-arranging metadata structure
As my collection grows, I sometimes realize that I placed a given keyword in a bad spot in the hierarchy. It would be nice if there was an easy way to move the keyword to a better location in the keyword hierarchy which automatically moves the keyword on all the photos where it has been applied.

6) Multi-Monitor support
In order to work well with several displays it would be nice if all panels could float and could be moved to a different location. Right now I can sort of make-do by stretching the window across two displays, having the browser and thumbnail panels on the left screen and the image and tool panels on the right screen. More customizability would be better though.

7) JPG+RAW support
Make bibble understand that a given JPG+RAW file belong together, and let the use chose how to display them (RAW only, JPG only, both...).

8) Convert to JPG option
I prefer to work with RAW images, but some of my images really only have memory value and are technically completely uninteresting that I don't want to waste too much disk space on them. For these it would be nice to have a fast option that converts the image to JPG and then replaces the RAW image in the catalog with the converted JPG image. I know it would be a dangerous feature, but I would like it nonetheless.

I am sure that I missed some stuff, but this is a good start.

Hi Guys,

2. ASP alvays must to work very quickly because of RAWs are getting bigger!

Best regards

Several items I'd like to see :

Have the option to list several External Editors rather than just one. I use PSP X3 and PP X4 on different images. Be nice to select either in ASP.
Ability to read Grey Scale images. Have many from my scanned negs.
Ability to read files over 30MB. Have image files and some panos that go over this limit.

Hello,

Excuse me for my bad english :( .

I would like :D :
1- Synchronization auto of the directory of the hard disk with catalogues or visualization by marker to signal a non-synchro catalogue.
2- Have the possibility of moving only the viewing window to a second monitor, taking into account the latter's icc profile.
3- View any type of files (documents PDF, images, and videos) to the taguers, and then read with the external application of its choice.
4- Filter display JPG + RAW, RAW, JPG images.
5- When no GPS receiver, have the possibility to write the coordinates and altitude.
6- Manager of the keywords: the best opportunity to have a function for sorting alpha-digital by btn click right mouse for example. The worst by drag-drop without this generates a copy.
7- Possibility to choose the path of registration of the presets, keywords.
8- Management of larger files (panoramic).
9- Possibility to choose the location of the cache.

The ability to Roll/UnRoll stacks without having to deselect/reselect.
The ability to Roll/UnRoll all stacks with one keystroke (current work around is to "Ctrl A" select all, then "Ctrl Shift K" Roll/UnRoll.

Some sort of an processing graphical indicator or message, to reflect that an adjustment to the image is still being rendered. The message or indicator should disappear when the rendering is finished.
