How to remove PSPX4 manually

Postby Simone Corel UK on Fri Sep 30, 2011 6:16 am

In contrast to version PSPPX3, the new PSPX4 has implemented a tool that will remove all necessary keys and folders from your system. It works on all supported systems without problems.

Please follow the description below if you want to remove PSPX4 from your system.

How to remove PSPX4

Go to Start - Control Panel - Add and remove (XP) / Programs and Features (Vista, Windows 7) and remove PSPX4.

Restart the system if you want to reinstall it.

Additional note: No further action is required. Using other uninstall tools is neither good nor necessary.

Simone -- in view of the probable interest of others in this, I am making this a sticky post so that it will appear in future at the head of the forum.

perhaps you could start a new thread with combined instructions for X3 and X4, X4 first.

seems a bit greedy for it to have 2 stickies. they dilute each other.

also this thread perhaps gives the impression that that the sob module Protexis Licensing is removed with the product, which i'm not sure is the case.

PSP X4 also has a removal tool called PSPX4_Cleanup.exe, which suggests to me that the control panel method of removal is not as comprehensive as it could be. I was provided the program mentioned in response to a customer support query last week.

Uninstalling PSPX4 from Features and Programs does not remove ALL files from your PC.

Whe PSPX4 is reinstalled it remembers everything you had already even though you state to remove all files.

PSP has always been difficult to completely remove.

@ trueblue

My main part during the Beta testing period was to remove and to reinstall PSPX4 under 18 different scenarios on 6 different operating systems. Including all interruptions in between, I might have installed/reinstalled PSPX4 about 400 times.

While doing it, I never had any problems reinstalling PSPX4. (Compare to X3 which was a pain  )

There is indeed a tool for PSPX4 which is - please follow this advise - only for customers who can't remove the program from the Control Panel.

PSPX4 contains a new removing tool inside the program and removes all dysfunctional program parts already by using only the Control Panel.

[Update]SP1 has nothing changed. Please use Control Panel and in case of problems the tool.[/Update]

Removed post which noted that PSPX4 Uninstall may not work adequately if original install failed.

I can`t remove the PSPX4 via add/remove. It won`t remove....at all.
Tried reinstalling in case there was any fault on the current installation, it won`t install either.States there is already a previous version on it.
Also tells me i don`t have the priveledges to do it. Only me uses this computer.
Shows on list of programms on the add/remove,not on the "all programs " start menu list.
Really would appreciate help to remove this program as my 2003 XP/Pentium4 is now snail pace,
Need to know IF it`s simply the massive 339mb it used that`s cabbaged the computer, or is it the hard drive finally given up ?
Was absolutely working fine before the software added.Registered procuct 19th January.Online tech reply wasn`t any good, simply said to add/remove.
Please could anyone who has successfully removed using that exe tool, please tell me how they did it ?
Also my computer was System Restoring before the PSX4 was installed, now i can`t system restore either !
Years ago i has a similar proble with Norton a/v, needed a removal tol as that too had Gremlined it`s way in.
Thanks in anticipation,
Frank

Sorry but I have been trying to uninstall the prog. ever since I tried a free version and discovered that it was far too extensive that my Adobe CS5 and Canon Olympus Master 2 already covered. I tried to uninstall it but it leaves a small part that now, every time I try to open one of my archive pictures tells me that the file cannot be found and this may indicate a corrupt or missing file!
I'm going hairless - after umpteen attempts even your Customer Care site can't help me!
How do I get around this problem????????

Haven`t got the PSPX4 to remove yet,am despairing.
Transferred every file onto a portable hard drive, my XP is now back at 82% free space.
The add/remove absolutely refuses to remove the PSPX4,states "file path cannot be found".
Then it tells me i haven`t got administrator or other priveledges.
Same problem encountered by another user ..who is going hairless.
Personally i`m going grey with exasperation.
Please can anyone suggest anything at all to remove this program ? The exe command prompt didn`t work either.
It tabsolutely won`t REINSTALL either, says "existing version on,can`t find initialization files" etc
Had i suspected the removal tool was within the software, i would have used that to remove it.
Somebody ,somewhere must surely know how to remove this ?
Thanks in anticipation..

Hi Frank

Sorry but unsure if you have downloaded this file?

PSPx4 Clean Up.exe

You mentioned transferring every file, which files are you talking about.
Hopefully they are NOT the installation files From C/Program files /Corel

I suppose a new install does not work, this may refresh the installation files and allow a full UN-install?
