Project Creator Unable to connect

Postby Aknot on Fri Apr 08, 2011 10:57 pm

I just purchased the PSP X3 Ultimate. Installed everything with no issue. Rebooted edited a photo saved it then opened Project Creator to upload it to Facebook. Put in my correct email and password. Yet I get the error of:

Unable to connect Please check your network connection.

Since I am posting this from the same machine that has PSP/Project Creator there is nothing wrong with my network connection. I tried the help feature to no avail. Ive checked my UN/PW for Facebook and my connection and everything is correct.

It appears I can not even connect via PSP to check for updates etc.

Is your firewall or Anti-Virus stopping the connection?

I have no notifications of it do so. Are there certain ports that require to be opened?

On an update the "Update" PSP works fine and I have updated it with Serv Pak 4.

I have sent an email to Corel about this problem and have yet to recieve a response. Would I have to pay for phone support or would this be considered a one time call with settig up/installign since the product is not working correctly?

Do you have User Account Control turned on? If so, try turning that off, log off Windows then log on again, and try it. It's just a shot in the dark but that UAC has done weird stuff to me before, and Corel suggests that you turn it off when installing anyways.

One of the Corel folks here may see this and message you as well.

Thanks df will try that when I get home. Should I uninstall turn off reinstall and try? Or just turn off UAC and relog?

I did get an email earlier this morning. Apparently it is a known issue that has been reported previously with no fix at this time.

"This issue has already been submitted to the PSP team for investigation. We would be glad to contact you once there is an available solution."

Will post when I do the UAC thing.

Thanks again.

I would just turn off the UAC, log off log on and see if it magically works. You may already have it turned off so this may not be a fix.

@Aknot

We have escalated this problem a while ago. I'm not sure about the stage and if there will be a patch for it in the next time.
I work for the Corel UK Support. I will not give technical support through this forum and my answer is only related to this thread.

Still appears to be a problem. I will assume it will never be fixed. Shoddy products and no support from the creators tend to make people not buy them and go elsewhere.

I know I will.

Project Creator stinks.
Development stopped and it was dropped from later versions...
