Before asking questions in this forum, have you checked everything in the USER MANUAL and Readme of the program?
Also, please look in the Corel Knowledge Base. Then use Search because someone may have already asked the same question.

If you have not already done so, click on User Control Panel, in the forum header and from the Profile Tab fill in the fields titled:

Operating System
System Drive
32bit or 64bit
Motherboard
Processor
Ram
Video Card
Sound Card
Hard Drive Capacity

Then we can view your system specs below your avatar or username.
For problems not covered, please use this format in posting your questions:

1. SUBJECT: Please use a subject that describes your exact problem
2. Describe your problem:
3. What devices are involved and their mode of connection?:
4. The Version of program is being used e.g. VS11+ VS11.5+ VSX2-X3-X4-X5
5. Please list all patches/updates that have been installed relating to that version of the program.
6. Details of the source files.
Note: to obtain all the properties of a file, right click on a video file in either the VS timeline or library window.

1. Where did they originate (camcorder, internet, TV card etc)
2. How did they get onto your hard drive (download, firewire, USB cable etc.)
3. Type of video e.g. MPEG2, DV, DivX, MPEG4 etc
4. Video data rate
5. Type of audio e.g. LPCM, AC3, MP3 etc
6. Audio data rate

7. Project Settings
8. PAL or NTSC
9. Did this error occur at the SHARE - Create Video Step
OR have you gone directly to the SHARE - Create Disc Step
(In other words you have a VSP file in the Create Disc Step)
10. Error Codes (if any):

By following these simple rules, you will increase your chances of obtaining a solution to your problem.

Some codec packs are incompatible with much video software. Some codecs in them conflict with the codecs that MSP, VS, WS, MF and other NLEs use.

It is known that these sometimes cause:
a) no video
b) no audio
c) unforeseen crashes

If you have a codec pack of whatever make installed and suffer from any of the above problems, you may find that uninstalling the pack will be the solution for you.

We have seen this solution has worked twice in the past day or two, with two of the above programs, and a search on this and other forums will reveal other cases.

The purpose of providing a meaningful title is this.
There are a number of members on the forum who try and help troubleshoot problems - myself included. In the early days of the user forum it was not too difficult to be able to read all of the posts submitted since the last time I (or one of the other troubleshooters) had logged on.

On the Forum Home page at the top right is a link
view posts since last visit In the forums early days this would perhaps range between 10-30 posts. Today however the board has grown in popularity and more products are now catered for including the former Intervideo products before the merger with Ulead.

There have been days when I have logged on to find over 70 new posts since my last visit. It is of course impossible to read each and every one of them and so it is necessary to look at the titles to pick out posts where I feel I am able to offer some worthwhile input.

if you are viewing perhaps the VideoStudio forum and a post is entitled
"VideoStudio" - it doesn't really give you a clue, similarly in the PhotoImpact forum a post entitled [PhotoImpact] is equally as meaningless.

Giving a post a suitable title is a means of helping us to help you.
