It is probably a firmware issue.

Honestly sj, you are not getting it. Please install Win7 on your own system so you will understand. X2 has had trouble with Vista and now it is even worse with 7. Corel needs to do some major fixing.

I have Windows 7 ultimate running on my machine. I installed VS 12. No problem. I did a clean install of Windows 7 however.

I agree. Possibly the Indian version is using different fonts if it does display all the buttons. We are using the standard US/UK English version.

FYI,
I submitted a problem report last week about the VS button problem in the burning module under Windows 7. (They have probably received many such reports, including from some of those posting in this discussion topic, but I thought one more wouldn't hurt.)

I asked if they are aware of the problem and also asked if they intend to fix it. This is Corel support's reply.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The VideoStudio development team is aware of the issue. This has already been reported to them
and they are already investigating the matter."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's encouraging. However, 7 months ago they told me they were going to report the AVCHD transition "blip" problem to the development team, but it still hasn't been fixed. Let's hope for faster action on the button problem.

Hi, I to had done a clean install of Windows 7 then VS X2 before having the problem of the missing buttons and after reporting it twice to Corel have now received the following response.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you very much for the information you provided. This is a known issue with VideoStudio X2 on Windows 7 system. Corel is already aware of this and the engineering is having to do some extensive work to fix this issue.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So hopefully a proper "fix" is in the pipeline, until then will continue with using the keyboard shortcuts. However I see it is still listed as being W7 compatible, perhaps they should qualify what they mean by compatible.

Alpine
I use English version US. I had mentioned in one of earlier posts of the skewed "Back" button. It is alignment problem which Corel needs to fix.
As along as the button works when clicked it should not matter

I recently completed a clean install from WinXP to Win7.
I then installed VS x2 Pro.

When I insert images on the time line & click on the "pan & zoom" I get the following message "Corel Video Studio Has Stopped Working" then I am forced to close VS down. VS worked well on Windows XP.

I reinstalled (repair option), & VS still crashes when "pan & zoom" option is clicked. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Early today I informed Corel of this issue.

Not sure if anyone has an answer but I could sure use any suggestions. I use the pan & zoom on all my video projects. Without this feature, I am screwed.

As an FYI not related, this forum is impossible to find on the Corel web site. I had to copy the thread from my pc at work to get here tonight.

Thanks,
Rich

I have the same problems with the tabs, and the alt n works fine. Mine gets almost rendered then all of a sudden before it finishes it crashes, and windows said it would let me know when they find a cure.
I would of assumed since other companies have some problems fixed that Corel would of had updates before this.

It doens't tell me what the problem was.

How are thy going to sell a product that isn't compatable with windows 7?
I have to try a few more times, and see if I can get it to finish.

Any others having problems with finishing a project and burning?
thanks Bruce

With the exception of the missing buttons and the AVCHD glitches, works fine for me producing AVCHD files and ordinary DVDs from the HD sources.

Thanks for the shortcuts. (I'm too lazy to look them up in the DOC files.)

Same problems as everybody else here.

Rich2Putt
Go to the folder where VS resides in program files (x86) folder. It should be here C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel Videostudio 12.
Trace the vstudio file.
Right click the file
Click Trouble shoot comptibility
Follow instructions on the screen.
Windows 7 will push VS into XP mode
Hope this helps

Thumbs Up For Corel Very Happy

Corel returned a reply on 11/9 with several steps to follow that may solve this problem. I followed their recommendation & it worked!. VSx2 no longer crashes when pan & zoom is applied.

I do have the same issue as everyone else has with the "next buttons". I
do not have any other known issues with VS x12, although I've only tested for 15mins since the re-install.
