Photo Impact 12

Hi everyone... I am using the try it before you buy it Photo Impact 12 and I am a complete amateur. I would very much like to learn how to use this program and have been trying the tutitorials. Specifically the animated beating heart lesson. My problem is that I need to download the extra content to be able to use the heart graphic. Where do I find the "extra content" I need to download. No laughing, I am 50 with my first PC and I would really appreciate it for someone to walk me through from the begining to find this, I am so lost that you will have to tell me where it is and what it is called. Any help appreciated as I know I want to buy this but if I can't figure out even the small projects I won't improve on learning how to use it. TY

Click on the following link, which will open the webpage containing the Extra Content Links for PI-12. http://www.ulead.com/pi/esd.htm The one you need to donwload and install is of course called PhotoImpact 12 Contents (upi12 contents (e).exe. (225 MB file), I do hope you have a fast broadband connection.

Ty for your quicks responses. I am so excited!!! A tad concerned about the warning about the time it will take to load the program and I hope I have enough space for the new content. Hmmm...serious question, is it absolutely necessary to load this as I doubt highly I will be concerned about beating hearts in future. I just wanted to finally complete a seemingly easy project. I did tell you I am clueless

It is not absolutely necessary to download the extra content. The program will work fine without it. It's just frustrating if you want to use something from the EP and find it's not there.

I have tried to download the extra goodies and keep getting an error message that the trial is not on my computer but I can go in and open it. It just won't let me download the extras.

Do I need to uninstall and reinstall PI12?

You are one of the few users where this happens. Don't know of any fix either. This bug has been reported by a number of users. The only way I know to overcome this is to buy the full version, sorry.

BTW, frequently installing / uninstalling is a sure fire way to get your registry into a mess. I would not advise to do that since it has not fixed this problem for other users either.

Do you have an older version of PI installed? If you do, point PI to where your extras are for that version. You can than use these with PI 12 to evaluate

The purpose of providing a meaningful title is this.
There are a number of members on the forum who try and help troubleshoot problems - myself included. In the early days of the user forum it was not too difficult to be able to read all of the posts submitted since the last time I (or one of the other troubleshooters) had logged on.

On the Forum Home page at the top right is a link
[view posts since last visit] In the forums early days this would perhaps range between 10-30 posts. Today however the board has grown in popularity and more products are now catered for including the former Intervideo products before the merger with Ulead.

There have been days when I have logged on to find over 70 new posts since my last visit. It is of course impossible to read each and every one of them and so it is necessary to look at the titles to pick out posts where I feel I am able to offer some worthwhile input.

if you are viewing perhaps the VideoStudio forum and a post is entitled
"VideoStudio" - it doesn't really give you a clue, similarly in the PhotoImpact forum a post entitled [PhotoImpact] is equally as meaningless.

Giving a post a suitable title is a means of helping us to help you.
