Making and Sharing VideoStudio Movie Templates

Postby sjj1805 on Sat Jul 07, 2007 4:14 pm

I have tested these templates with
VideoStudio 9
VideoStudio 10 +
VideoStudio 11 +

These templates are in PAL (25fps) Instructions below for converting them to NTSC (29.97 fps)
Firstly please view this short instructional video How to Export/Import Movie Templates

To use the following DivX templates you will need the DivX 6 codec available here http://www.divx.com/

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
EDIT 21 June 2009

Windows Live now provides 25GB of storage space.
As this is from Microsoft hopefully these files will not suddenly disappear as has occurred with previous file sharing sites I have used in the past.

TemplateVEOH.avi
TemplateVEOH-MPEG4.avi
TemplateYouTube.avi
TemplateYouTube-MPEG4.avi

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I am not suggesting that my templates are the best in the world but at least we all now know how to create and share them.
Please feel free to create and add further templates to this thread.

Here is a template I use to convert a full screen capture from Camtasia Studio into something that VideoStudio finds more manageable.
ConvertCamtasia.avi
After applying edits I then use one of the above templates to upload to the web. here is such an example:
Create Subtitles with VS11+ for use in MF6+ (Video)

Converting the above templates to NTSC.

Unlike DVD Video where we have to take into account the different screen sizes PAL = 720 x 576 || NTSC = 720 x 480. For sharing on the internet the only change required is the frame rate. PAL = 25 fps NTSC = 29.97 fps.
It is very simple to alter these templates as follows:

Click [Tools]

Select the template to be changed and click the EDIT button:

It now turns out my MediaMax account has exceeded its download limit!!

O well, never mind - I've found another site not unlike Filewind.

TemplateVEOH.avi (DivX)
TemplateVEOH-MPEG4.avi
TemplateYouTube.avi (DivX)

I tried the TemplateYouTube-MPEG4.avi template, but the file size was 660 mb compared to 12 mb for the avi template. When I edited the template, compression was turned off. Is something missing?

Thanks,
Matt

When I tried to add your WMV640x480NTSC.wmv template via Tools > Make Movie Templates Manager, I cannot add it. It says "File Format Mismatch"

The "avi" one's work but it seems the "wmv" one's don't and so I have removed those 2.

I'm trying to upload several of my videos to youtube. I was trying to use one of video templates I got from this forum. It was the "youtube-mpeg4.avi" template to be precise. But as I was looking at its properties, I realized it was for avi files which I guess would not work with mpg. Is there a good template out there for mpg2 and youtube?

As I've stated on other forums, please forgive me, I'm a newbie.
Thanks for your help!

Following is Steve's reply to a similar issue in the VS forum.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
One of the problems we have on this Web Board is that Corel have not provided us with any storage space. We therefore have to resort to third party sites like driveway, MediaMax, ImageShack and the like.
As we keep finding out from time to time, these freebie sites are unreliable because your "stuff" can vanish at any time and without forewarning.

Whilst I suppose I could purchase some storage space - as much as I like doing what I can here as an unpaid volunteer - I do not intend that goodwill to extend to dipping into my own pocket.

I will have to look around for another free hosting site and check to see if my templates are still on one of my hard drives.

Ok how about this..

For any one needing a NTSC or PAL AVCHD Template follow the below link to the appropriate format you need..

I am hoping the way I set it up works, and is easy to download the sample videos

I was wondering if you have any updates to the link in this thread, on how to make and share templates? It seems to lead to an incorrect link. I've used your directions to create a template (worked great!) in Photo Impact, and would like to add it to VS Pro X2. Thanks for your help.
