Why ask here when the author never posted here?
Why not ask him directly?

I don't think Roger is eager to do it. Since I have sent him a email in Jan and this is what he replied:
"I can't promise anything, but I'll try to squeeze in some time to do this over the next couple of months."
Now, it has already been 3 months and we still have not heard anything from him yet!

I guess that why!

Well, after three months it might be a good idea to ping him again....

Well, I asked him via Twitter if I could betatest the new version for ASP (only Linux so far) and he said that only owners of the Gradfilter Pro version for Bibble can betatest so far. But there is progress for sure, just be a bit patient!

Thanks for your reply madsec,
Do you know the time requires for the windows version once the UNIX version is completed?

Thanks,
Vinny

In my post I wrote already everything I know. But I think the main problem of doing a Windows or Mac version is the compilation itself, so shouldn't take long to make them. I think the only reason he tests Linux only is that he doesn't has to compile it for all systems again after making changes...

Perhaps Corel Inc. can help a little bit? Roger Barnes did a great job in programming the plugin.
I am sure someone will be helpful by compiling the Windows/iOS versions of grad filter. As a gratitude for that she/he should get a free license for grad filter?
The problem seems to be that he just wants (needs) to get some money back from the spent time. We are willing to pay, Corel Inc. has the infrastructure to collect the money. This should be a reasonable starting point.

Why doesn't Corel Inc. take the opportunity to help a little bit?

I think compiling the plugin isn't very expensive in time, he just wants to test it first on OS befor compiling it for Windows or MacOsX. If Roger really has a running version for ASP on one OS, then it won't take long to finish it for ASP. In the old Bibble forum plugin authors mentioned that porting a plugin from Bibble to ASP isn't that big deal.

Your idea with Corel helping Roger with payment chanels is very good, let's hope Corel reads it here and makes the first step to contact Roger. :)

Hi all,
I am the developer of GradFilter and have some progress to report.

Firstly, thanks to afx for directing me here, and apologies to all of you for not communicating a status update lately.

I have a working beta version of the Pro plugin for Linux only at this stage. After fixing a couple of bugs I will package it for all supported operating systems and make it available. As some of you have noted, I also need to work out a payment solution, but I believe I can resolve this soon.

A few things to keep in mind:
  • As I'm currently juggling full time work, a new venture and other commitments, my availability is particularly limited at the moment
  • At this stage, I'm not planning to release a free version as I did previously. I understand that this may bother some people, but I must focus my efforts quite carefully at the moment due to a pending career change.
  • A free upgrade will be provided for all past registered users of the Bibble version, and since ASP is cheaper than Bibble was, I intend to make the price lower for new purchases.
  • The feature set is very close to that of the Bibble version, and future changes are unlikely.

Cheers,
- Roger Barnes

Just a thought. ... If you have a license for GF then under windows/mac you could run a virtual machine of linux, install ASP and also the pre release linux version of GF running in it. If it's critical to you working then worth a shot.

I have tried it, but prefer working ASP in LinuxMint anyday.
