Help with CA correction ( newbie)

Postby rich00 on Sun Jun 03, 2012 1:38 pm

Hi all,

I'm quite new to photography and image processing. I've bought ASP and been using it for a couple of weeks. The problem is that I can't match the CA correction to that of Olympus Viewer (OV). OV seems to remove it completely automatically but with ASP I can't seem to correct it by using the CA correction in the detail tb. I have CA quest but I understand you need to correct it first in the detail tab before it saves and applies your settings. I'm liking ASP but this is a deal breaking for me, any suggestions on how I can do this properly ?

Good question. I'd be interested in tips in that area as well :-)

In my limited understanding of CAquest, it depends on your having a series of photos to which you have already applied CA correction inside ASP. So the first thing to do is to establish which correction is necessary for each combination of body and lens in your camera bag.

To facilitate this, perhaps you could publish links to some raws, and let the forum members propose CA correction settings?

Thanks for the suggestions.
I'm noticing if I'm using the Wavelet Denoise tool and adjusting the color noise then the edges are a lot cleaner. Maybe I had this mistaken for CA.
