When you say you can remove items, do you mean pin items, or remove them from your customToolsUI.txt?

You can find a good introduction to "customToolsUI.txt"

I pin them and they disappear.

But how do I "unpin" them or add other items?

"customToolsUI.txt" what is this? I can't find this and can't imagine I will have to go into a txt file to fix setup? That is what we did in the 80's and partly 90's...

When you pin one of them; take a look at the top of the right hand tool panel - it should
be pinned there at the top. Unpin it by clicking the little pin icon at the right hand side of the pinned item.
When the item is unpinned it will return to it's originally assigned tab.

customToolsUI.txt is a nice customization feature that has already been written about by very knowlege members
just follow the link in my post above. But it is probably too advanced than what you need.
