I am hoping that someone can tell me what might be going on on my system.
I have a licensed copy of ASP and have been using it semi-regularly for the past couple of weeks. I generally take full-size RAW images with a Canon 7D and I have been working with one particular folder of these since I got ASP. I turned the computer on the other day and all of the RAW CR2 images in that folder had disappeared from the film strip in ASP. My first thought was that something had happened to the images, but when I checked the folder with Windows Explorer they images are still there.
1- I can see them and load them with CS5, PSP X4, Sagelight (another editor I use) and Dxo,
2- I tried refreshing the folder in ASP but it did not help. The images still do not show up in the film strip,
3- I tried copying the images to another folder. When I did that I could see them, in that folder, in the ASP film strip, but when I change back to the original folder I still cannot see them,
4- Exiting and restarting ASP has no effect,
5- I thought that perhaps I had inadvertently changed some setting so that I could not see CR2 files at all, but if I select another folder containing RAW images I have no problem seeing them,
6- I renamed one of the files I had copied (in item 3) and copied it back to the original folder. I could then see it, but still could not see any of the others,
7- Changing to the thumbnail view does not have any effect. I still cannot see any of the RAW images in that folder,
8- If I try to open a file with File -> Open I can see the files in the browser window but they will not actually open. Nothing happens when I select the file to open.
Does anyone have any thoughts about this? What have I changed in ASP that might be causing this problem? I know I could probably copy all of the images to another folder and be done with the problem but I would like to know what has happened here so I will be prepared if it happens again.
