Creating Custom Objects?

Postby Rayj on Sat Feb 04, 2012 11:16 pm

I am using the evaluation version right now.

Is it possible to create custom objects, such that they can be added to the MotionStudio Objects library and
be able to use all of the Object Effects, such as Object Explosion?

I have created a basic flat wall in 3ds but when I import it into MotionStudion, the Object Explode option is not in the
Object Effects?

I am trying to find a nice 3d brick wall but I'm not having any luck. I want to explode the wall as an object hits it.

Thanks,

Ray

The Easy Palette contains only presets. So, not everything that you can do is in the Easy Palette.

Click the "Add Plug-in" icon in the Attribute Panel and you should get a long list which includes Object Explosion.

Yes. Unfortunately it does not apply to imported 3D models. For instance, import a .3ds and the Explosion option is not available?

Ray,

Did you see my latest response to your post in the Wishlist? I tell you how to import a 3D model so you can apply the explosion effect.

Awesome. Thanks a lot for your time on this....

Now, is there an easy way to create a custom motion path? I'd like an object to
move in a crescent moon type motion from top to bottom then to top again from
left to right. Also the opposite direction, right to left and top to bottom to top.

Wow....by not articulating properly, I caused a completely different reaction to my question!

I really thank you for your effort though.

What I am looking to learn is how to create a motion path that is shaped like a crescent moon.

So, picture two crescent moon paths, one on the left and one on the right of the screen.
There will be two objects, one on each side. They begin their motion at the top tip of the crescent
and move downward and the up to the other tip of the crescent.

Another way to visualize, hold out your two hands in front of you pointing your fingers outward, then
make a "U" shaped movement from top to bottom, right hand going right to left and left hand going
left to right in the movement.

That's the kind of motion paths I would like to create.

Thanks,

Ray
