Welcome to the forums,

How long have you waited before cancelling the installation? The recent Corel programs take an awful long time to install. Does your harddrive show any activity while the install appears to be stuck? There may be something going on in the background that is taking a long time. Do you get a
Not Responding Error? Have you opened the task manager and checked to see if it is running or Not-Responding? If you're not getting the Not Responding error, then it is still working on installing.
Is your Windows XP up to date with all service packs? Some of Corel's programs require certain versions of MicroSoft's .NET framework be installed. If you don't have it, then the program will install it, which can take quite a while. Have you recently
manually updated your DirectX drivers? This is not part of MicroSoft's automated windows update service. You need to go to Microsoft's website, download, unpack and install it.
Did you purchase this directly from Corel? You stated you just purchased it, is that within the last 30 days? Are you located in the U.S.? If so they have a 30-day money back guarantee. If so, I would ask for a refund, and get something that will not cause you to pull your hair out, smack your head against the desk, and throw your computer out the window.

Corel Digital Studio and all the programs attached to it, are garbage!! Corel dropped the ball when they released these. You will not find any of us "old-timers" having anything to do with them.
