Believe me, from the point of view of us Moderators and Administrators, this is heaven behind the scenes. This version of the Board software, amongst other things, allows us to hopefully filter out the hundreds of spam applicants to become users right from the start. With the old software, we had to literally go through hundreds of applications a day one by one and assess whether they were spammers or not. Very time consuming for those of us who have jobs in real life!

My only complaint so far is that we seem to have lost the ability to move from thread to thread without first having to go back to the Index. The old software, as you will recall, had a "Next" and "Previous" button for each thread... But hopefully we will be able to rectify this...

I had to check my archived PHPBB2 Web Board on my Local Intranet to see what the next topic / previous topic link was.
Yes I can see it there now but to be honest never noticed it before!

Corel will be placing some banners at the top of the web board but they are still being designed.
These are likely to be flash animations!

I have also suggested some useful links below the header, for an example (of the links) please take a look at the Test Web Board I used to help get this new Web Board set up.

The only problem I am having is with the new post notification. The icon turns red when there is a new post in a thread, but (to me) it's not very noticeable. On the old board you couldn't miss 'em. I wish the icon changed to a solid color (instead of just the outline) or was bolded.

A couple extra board style choices would be useful. One of the PHPBB33 versions of SubSilver especially so. From an administrational and security point of view v3 is certainly better, but the default look of it I find rather ugly. Also silly interface aspects like that pale yellow hover effect which activates even as your mouse passes across completely non-interactive parts of the page - bad form surely ;-)

If I had access to their server, which I don't, then I would agree about having a small number of styles available.
Problem I would have with styles is that I have to rely upon Corel making changes on my behalf to things like
overall_header.html
A separate one exists for each and every style available. It is hard enough getting Corel to alter just one thing let alone several. Sub-Silver is a completely different style when it comes to modification of the overall_header.html.
There are of course dozens of styles available based upon Pro-Silver. In practice all that I have available to play with is what is changeable in the Administrators Control Panel. I am attempting to get Corel to place some useful links below the header. For an example please view the test Web Board that I set up to get Corel to do this upgrade

Way too much clutter on the right side of the page....next to each person's reply, along with their avatar, does there have to be all that info about their computer systems, etc.? It spreads the posts (and also the page itself) out far too much, and one not only has to scroll down further than before, but now some shorter threads which were previously contained on one page have been spread out to two or more pages.

IMHO all that personal info should only be displayed on their profile page...not duplicated in a thread itself (I just tried checking some user pages and all that info is on a person's profile page) and certainly not each time their name or a reply from them is there. It's just annoying, clutter....any way to change that?

IMHO the profile info displayed is a great idea. I think any new members will be forced to fill that info when they join, so there will be no guess work when trying to help them. I only wish current members would be forced to do the same.

One very handy new item on this board is the "Subscribe to Forum" button. For members who like to view each new topic open the board at the Forum you wish and at the very bottom of the page is the item in question. Clicking this will turn the green tick to a red cross and from then on you will get a notification of every new topic that is posted on that Forum. Easy then to pick out the ones that interest you. Much better than the old "See new posts since last visit" feature.
This is what to look for at the bottom of each Forum page:
Sorry can't figure the image element yet. The URL and/or IMG tags don't work!
Like so;
http://www.johnm.f2s.com/Capture8.PNG
or
Image

P.S. Steve got the images to work. Need we get the Attachments" permissions I wonder if so why are the IMG tags in the editor?

I have the Subsribe to Forum checked but I don't get notifications. I think there is another setting somewhere that allows that.

You're right there. I assumed this phpBB3 was the same version that I use but it is slightly different. Have edited my post to suit. You can't watch the whole board but you should be able to watch the Forums you choose. The Subscribe to feature is at the bottom of each forum page not the Board index as I stated.
