PI 12 Some Plugins Not Showing Up in Effects

Postby cinmcw on Sat Jun 16, 2012 7:41 pm

Windows 7
Photoimpact 12

I've searched the net but have not had any success trying to fix this problem. Plugins used to show under Effects, but now many plugins aren't listed. I'm trying to complete PI tutorials for creating images and papers and can't do so without the filters. Please help!

Another question: I have some plugins listed in my plugin folder that I'm wondering if I should remove because I'm not sure they're compatible with PI. Of course, I can't find a single example at the moment! I know .8bf formats are compatible, but I have a bunch with other extensions. Is there a list of plugin extensions that are NOT compatible with PI?

I read in the forum that PI12 is not compatible with Windows7. I have the problem with PI crashing so frequently, it's a joke. I'll save often, but PI will crash/freeze, and I'm constantly losing my work and having to start all over. Are there any fixes for this?

Thanks so much for your help!

PhotoImpact 12 is not compatible with Windows 7, so you will have problems.

To have your plugins visible, they firstly must be in the plugins folder. Here is a tutorial that may help you. Plugins

Thank you for your quick reply!

I am familiar with the files I need in my Windows folder, how to add other locations for plugins from within PI, and I made sure the dll files were where they should be, but I will double-check just to make sure. Will let you know!

Thanks for your help!
