FILE READING ERROR

Postby jimothy on Sun May 20, 2012 5:20 pm

A file I have been working on has suddenly broken.
I made a few changes to some text, saved it as a .UFO file and now it won't open.
When I try and open it I get:
FILE READING ERROR
800:118:2743

Properties say it's 10.7MB so there's still something in the file but it won't open. Tried the usual restart, copy and rename etc but nothing will work.

Please help!

It sounds very much to me that the file has become corrupt. I've had this before myself and just could not open the .ufo.

Do you have another version of PI or have a friend with PI that you could try opening on their machine?

thanks trueblue

I have PI 8 which says the same thing. I've asked around my friends and so far nobody I know uses it.
Is there anything else you can suggest?

Thanks again.

Can you zip up the ufo and post here and I'll see if I can open it in X3.

Do you have a later version of PI other than PI8? say, PI 12 which has the PEX that enables you to view .ufos?

Older versions of PI are becoming very difficult to obtain now.

no, sadly just PI8 and X3

I've re-done the work now as I was on a deadline. Thanks for your help though and if it does it again I'll be in touch.

Thank you.
