@flagpole - Mange -> Map mode

@ispyisail - I don't think you can change this. Chances are they're using the Windows API's Web view control. And I really don't know much about it, how it chooses which browser engine to use for the control, and whether or not that's configurable when calling the webview or if you're stuck with whatever version of the C++ library you use. To use Chrome they would have to make use of the webkit COM library which they don't so that's not possible.

IE is certainly compatible with the google maps API. So that must be Edge prior to the anniversary update?

I'd try just changing the system's default browser.

I do see this error on my Windows 10 Anniversary Edition.

So I learned more about webview. WebView is part of the Windows Platform SDK and is a generic UI component for allowing people to display websites inside their own applications. WebView runs a greatly decreased in functionality version of IE as a component of whatever program you put it in. So what does this mean? I ran wireshark to see what was being sent to Google maps and this is how the webView reports its user agent Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; Trident/7.0)

Now IE always reports itself as Mozilla/5.0 for "historical reasons" but this webview lists itself as being IE9.0 compatible. This does not mean it's running IE9, but that it's in a decreased state capable of running IE9 level HTML. It also reports itself as being on Windows 10, 64-bit system with Trident 7.0 HTML rendering engine. Trident 7.0 is the IE 11 rendering engine. So it is running, technically, IE 11. If I had to guess, it's the IE9 compatible mode that's causing Google to freak out. And I do have to guess because I don't know for sure.

Has anyone figured out a way for a user to get get this working? I am using Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. I have Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer, and Edge browsers installed, and Paint Shop Pro X9. I would like to use this functionality to geotag images.

As far as I know it still works, it just complains about the version of the browser you're using.

Yes, as LeviFiction says, ignore the error message and work as usual.
You will geotag your photos without problem with Chrome or Firefox.

Thanks LeviFiction and Jean-Luc - I did as you suggested and was able to tag images.

I was copy and pasting an address into the search field on PaintShop Pro's Map Mode, hitting the return key on my keyboard, and nothing was happening. I found if I just typed the address and let the field display it's guesses, and made my selection that way, then Map Mode worked and I was able the move forward and tag images. Maybe user error on my part. I have not done much with PaintShop Pro's geotagging functionality.

Thanks again for the advice.

Hello,

I'm a french user of PSPX7 Ultimate to PSPX9 Ultmate (64 bits), french version. My OS Win 10. My browser Firefox. My camera does not have a localization function. I am using PSP software for localization for all my pictures. This was working well. But still 6 months, I have an issue with localisation. If I try to copy the localization datas of the picture and paste them on a other one, the result is wrong : example copy of following datas Latitude 46.309323°N Longitude 6.760071°E, the result after paste is Latitude 46.000000°N Longitude 6.000000°E. And it's the same thing for all datas. Positions after the dot become 000000 ! Copy and paste are not working on these functions
If I use the google maps function trought PSP on try to localize by an address, the result is good. If I slide a group of pictures on an existing localization, it works well too. So issue, only in copy/paste function.
Does somebody can provide help
Thank You
NB : I have the same message of maps error at opening of maps function than Ispyisaail

I had the same problem in X8 and the 2018 version. Yesterday I found the culprit. It's a false registry entry. I Think you need IE11.
Then check your registry

*HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE (or HKEY_CURRENT_USER)*
*SOFTWARE*
*Microsoft*
*Internet Explorer*
*Main*
*FeatureControl *FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION
Corel PaintShop Pro.exe

On my computers there was the value 0x270F (9999). Change it to 0x2AF9 (11001). Doing this I got rid of this message.

According to Microsoft's documentation "Internet Feature Controls (B..C)" (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/librar ... _emulation) means the 0x2AF9:

Internet Explorer 11. Webpages are displayed in IE11 edge mode, regardless of the declared !DOCTYPE directive <https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms535242%28v=vs.85%29.aspx>. Failing to declare a !DOCTYPE directive <https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms535242%28v=vs.85%29.aspx> causes the page to load in Quirks.

The old value displays web pages in IE9 mode.
