Problems Activating PSP9 on Windows7

Postby rfranzosa on Mon Apr 09, 2012 3:57 am

I have been a long time user of PSP 9 on my home computer (Vista). I recently got a 64bit Windows7 laptop and tried PSP x4. Frankly, there were several changes that I was not fond of, so I decided to go back to PSP 9.

I downloaded PSP 9 to this new laptop and got a 'you do not have permission to activate this product' message. I was able to get past that by starting PSP 9 as an administrator, but I am unable to activate the product, because I get the same message when I click the 'already purchased' button. How do I get past this?

Thanks

I haven't tried to install PSP 9 on my Win7-64 machine but one thing I would do is to find the actual .exe file (right click the PSP shortcut and click Properties\shortcut tab\open file location) right click the .exe file and click properties.
On the compatibility tab check Run this program in compatibility for: and choose Windows XP SP3.
Next check Run this program as administrator.

If this doesn't work you may need to reinstall, doing the same for the installation program (running as admin under XP compatibility mode).

Hi Dan,

Thanks, that's exactly what I did to get PSP9 running, however, once it's running, clicking the 'already purchased' button gives me the error. The system will only run in 30 day trial mode.
