TEXT Question

Postby TattooJay on Fri Jul 13, 2012 4:23 pm

I am having a problem, what I want to do is this.

I want to write text
Then make it curve up/down etc.. without using a object
But by using my mouse.

Is this possible?

I remember I was able to do this in PSP 9 but that was a long time ago. I would be able to do it with my mouse.
I get the box now after I apply text to Move, Rotate, resize, but no curve. I remember in the past dragging my mouse pointer
to the center of the box and getting a option where I can move the text to curve it up or down. That is what I would like to do again.

Can somebody please help

I have PSP X4

Set up your line of text on a transparent layer and then try experimenting using a large warp brush and see if that is to your liking.

If you what you want to do is something like this...

Then you can follow this tutorial that I made sometime ago using PSP X2, but you can still apply the steps on the later version of PSP.

How to place or fit a text to a path or object using PaintShop Pro Photo X2 Ultimate?

I want to do something like that but just with my mouse and not by using any objects to follow.

I have PSP 9 installed on my computer. And I don't remember such an option, let alone able to find one. It's always been my understanding that to deform the text you need to attach it to an object.

No, we understood.

Hartpaul offered the only other way to curve the text (without using a distortion effecct).

If you don't want the text to follow an object you'll have to use the Mesh Warp tool or the Warp Brush tool. Otherwise Objects are easy and your best bet.
