A simple request

keep the tool windows from popping up directly over the picture? Im running PSP pro x3 express lab. not very express if I have to keep moving the pop up out of the way...also defeats the purpose of the preview image, any suggestions?

I'm being disappointed of X3 because it is too buggy and resource hungry. And worst of all, some of the features have worsened. For instance, the X3 Organizer is a real disaster. Instead of being split off from the full-editor environment, Corel could emphasize the Full editor-Organizer integration by adding a drag and drop function, from the Organizer to the editor. Or simply, leave the things as they were in X2.

Finally, would we see a X4? Corel says nothing about a new PSP version.

This can be my fault doing wrong:

But how about text preview ?

How to try different fonts into the image ? usin arrow down?

My problem here is that if you want to try what different fonts for text looks like the text have to be selected!
That makes the colors invert for the text. And cannot change the font by clicking font: -dropdown + arrow down.
Office 2010 has realtime preview of fonts with mouse hover - perhaps that would be one.
And if no text is selected, font change affects all letters.

One of my testers also writes scripts and she's noticed that if she uses Merge Visible instead of Merge down, the problem doesn't occur. It seems to be a bug in the software. When I'm working on a script, I sometimes have a lot of layers, and hiding layers to use Merge Visible just isn't viable as it would take too much time.

I've contacted support about this several times, without any fix or answer - I keep getting sent to different people!

Can something be done about this? I'd love to purchase X3, but there is no way that I am going to buy it unless this bug is fixed.

Here's a link to an image from one of my testers - I've circled the places that have been cut off http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll38/jojomart_01/jdd/x3-1.png

Thanks,

UPDATE:

Has this ever been fixed with updates?? I want to buy the newest version but I'm not going to do it until I know for sure that this problem has been corrected.

The bug does have a fix but it hasn't been distributed as a patch yet. It should be in Patch #5.

Though, by using "LayerViewInvert" I can't imagine it would take that long to only merge the visible areas. But I also don't know what you're doing and I imagine you've already thought of all of the possibilities so....ignore me.

LOL, yes I've tried everything!! I tried merge visible, I tried merge down, and it still happens. It's very strange! Ohhhh how long will Patch 5 take to come out - soon I hope - because I am so frustrated.

I would like to tag RAW files.
I would like to view pictures by date shot (besides the already mentioned download by date shot)...

Two more things PSE can do that PSPX3 can not....

It would be awesome if

when you open photo, copy it with ctl-c
and paste it as layer in to another image
IF the layer name would become from the filename of that image (if saved)
This is because i have never gained anything from the raster n -naming - i think it does not need to be saved for the reason "it has always been like that"

We need to make PSP better so two more requests:
- many of us have tens or hundrends of fonts installed on Windows XP/7, but how many of them you really use, in my case I have about 40 installed fonts but I use only two or three. So my request is to add new palette in configuration where are listed all fonts and before name is checkbox [ ]/[x] to enable or disable showing font in program,, and even one global checkbox for using all fonts on computed ...as default setting. I really do not like to see/search again and again this big/long listbox.
- the second thing is about file formats in save dialog,, Yes it is now in PSP x2/x3 better then before but stil I use only few of them --- PNG, PSPIMAGE, JPEG, GIF and TIFF. So as I said before --- best shall be - in configuration add new palette where I enable (...select) my favorite [ ]/[x] file formats.

Thank You.

This isn't quite what you wanted (it isn't configurable), but they did change the file types dropdown in the Save As dialog to include the few most-used formats, grouped together, at the top of the list. That way, to choose one of them, you don't have to scroll. I believe this change was made for X2.

I have been trying for quite awhile to convince the powers that be to add the capability to add your own crop sizes. The list of sizes available is sorely lacking and there is no way to add more. Simple ones that should be there like 8 1/2 x 11? 16:9 widescreen? and many more that would make my life allot simpler. The ability to add Standard Avery templates is another feature I would like to see.

Well, you can set whatever sizes you want to with the crop tool. Activate the crop tool. In the Tool Options palette put in the dimensions that you want then click the presets down arrow. You'll see an image that looks like a floppy disk, that's how you save a setting. Name it, you're done.

I don't know about the Avery templates though.

They want an automatic conversion for the templates or at least for PSP to be able to use standard print templates. Of course if we know the sizes and positions it's easy to create the appropriate template to match the Avery template. The syntax for the file-format is very simple (it's just a script) or you can use the horrible built in functions for creating your own templates.

Wow! Thanks.

So why couldn't they have told me that years ago when I asked the first time or one of the many times since.
