Shared DVD Menus Created by Forum Users

Postby sjj1805 on Sun Nov 19, 2006 3:09 am

Here's a little offering.
Its a Smartscene menu that has 5 links.
Smartscene05
Smartscene05w

There you will find two files.
smartscene05.zip for a 4.3 version
smartscene05w.zip for a 16.9 version

Video/Studio 10+ users need to unzip it to:
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 10\Content\Menu Template\16x9\One Scene Button

MovieFactory 5 users need to unzip it to:
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5 Plus\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5\Content\Menu Template\16x9\One Scene Button

Change 16x9 to 4x3 if your using the 4.3 version.

EDIT 21 June 2009
Windows Live now provides 25GB of storage space.
As this is from Microsoft hopefully these files will not suddenly disappear as has occurred with previous file sharing sites I have used in the past.

bdaychild.zip
candles.zip
candles2.zip
Detective.zip
floral.zip
MovingPath.zip
smartscene05.zip
smartscene05w.zip
Smartxmas05.zip
Smartxmas05w.zip
HDMenus(Part1).zip
HDMenus(Part2).zip

Christmas is just around the corner and so I thought I would create a menu for all those Christmas videos. This Smartscene menu has 5 links.

EDIT:
A user sent me a PM to say he didn't have the font used to create the title.
You can download a copy of the font off my website here:

Murder/Mystery Menu

Postby sjj1805 on Thu Dec 21, 2006 2:13 pm

Here is a Menu for you 'whodunnit' fans.
When I use this menu I replace the background with a motion video of 20 seconds. Simply find a suitable part of your main video and extract a 20 second clip. I use VideoStudio and place the extracted clip on the video track and a 20 second colour clip on the overlay track which I then make semi transparent so that it 'dissolves' into the back ground and stops it from distracting from the actual DVD Menu thumbnails and navigation controls.

I think you will link the highlight images !

I have provided two copies
1. VideoStudio 10+ users
Download link

2. MovieFactory 5+ users
Download link

The menus are in 4.3 format.

Tried this next little experiment using a combination of PSP (paint shop pro) and PI12. The layered graphic for the SmartScene menu below was started in PSP. Notice the Screen layer is masked or transparent allowing the background image (balloons) to show through. Brought that into PI12, added navigation and text. When I got to the export step, PI12 warned that "the background transparency mask is not supported" and said it would remove it. However, it didn't! The transparency was maintained in the final template and views as such! :o

Here's a link to the file (zipped) and a screen shot:

This time, I actually spent a little more time on the design, tried to make something worthy of downloading :) Screen Shot:

Download the zipped template only (no video file) here:

Download the zipped Flash Intro (.avi only) here. Can also be used as the menu background. :

I have previously created the following for some other forum members

http://www.steve-jones.pwp.blueyonder.c ... uttons.zip
Image
http://www.steve-jones.pwp.blueyonder.c ... Thumb1.zip
Image

They are a bit basic - mainly just to provide you with a blank menu
one has One thumbnail - the other has 12. You then alter the background, music and so on as per this tutorial
Authoring a DVD

In This Post
A forum member complained about the highlight image obscuring a part of the text of the DVD MovieFactory first (SmartScene) template in the set, 05_0neS01.

I demonstrated the power of PhotoImpact being able to modify these existing templates and reduced the text field by 6 characters then nudged it over to the right away from the highlight image(s).

These will not overwrite your existing menu Template but will add to it.

For those that don¡¦t have PI, here's a version of 05vs_text02 that¡¦s exactly the same, minus the feather. Instead it just has a text/button overlay with the same colour scheme as the feather.

Video/Studio 10+ users need to unzip it to:
(If the sub-directory 'Bonus' doesn't exit - create it)
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 10\Content\Menu Template\16x9\Bonus

MovieFactory 5 users need to unzip it to:
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5 Plus\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5\Content\Menu Template\16x9\Bonus

Change 16x9 to 4x3 if your using the 4.3 version.

16:9 - http://media4.filewind.com/g.php?filepath=2973

4:3 - http://media4.filewind.com/g.php?filepath=2976

I figured I'd do the smart scene menu with the feather while I was at it so here's a modified version of 05vs_OneS01 with a green text/button overlay which turns orange when a button is activated.

16:9 - http://media6.filewind.com/g.php?filepath=3090

4:3 - http://media6.filewind.com/g.php?filepath=3097

peace.

Steve, I have a question here. On the fourth post down on this thread you say to unzip a file to this location:

I am using VS10 Plus

VideoStudio 10+ users need to unzip it to:
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 10\Content\Menu Template\4x3\Bonus

I DO NOT have a bonus folder. Is this a folder that you create at this location or am I missing something?

Thanks

Yes, simply create a new folder. You can name it what you like, I chose Bonus because that it the new folder created when you install the DVD Menu Pack (The one you have to purchase.)
