PC to TV Component connection

Postby Mike-Mat on Mon Jan 10, 2011 10:56 pm

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but here goes...

I want to connect the PC DVI output to my TV Component Input. The TV is about 10 Years old but it's an HDTV and (as I mentioned) it does have the Y, Pb, Pr connections. I've seen cables. Is there anything I need to set on the PC? Do I need a specific resolution output?

Any and all help is appreciated.

If anyone is interested, I may have found a solution to output a Component video signal to my old(er) TV.

This only works with certain ATI Radion cards and outputs an Component HD signal.

This ATI Radion 9600, 256MG, It's 128 bit and has 2 DVI ports. I can have a monitor and still output to the TV.

Including a cable, all for under $50
