INSERTING (.VOB) FILES

Postby melanie on Sat Jun 16, 2012 1:50 am

Hi,
I have just upgraded to Videostudio Pro X5.
I am starting a project and would like to upload the videos and photos as my first task.

I have some video footage on a dvd and when I try to upload it I get a message saying:

"unable to open file
file format mismatch"

It has been a while since I have used this program and my brain is slowly trying to remember how it all works :?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi
To import a DVD use the Insert Digital Media option. (Right click the timeline.)
Select Import Source Folder--locate the disc and tick Video TS folder

This should import the disc to the working folder, you can create a new one for these files

You could also try copying the vobs from the disc to your computer. Then simply change the .vob extension to .mpg... This works for some people.
