Heat Haze effect

Postby naw717 on Mon May 07, 2012 2:09 am

Hi all. I am using VideoStudio Pro X4, and I am looking to add the "heat haze" effect to a video I am working on. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this? Thanks.

Not sure of the exact effect you are hoping to achieve - but you can get a varying diffuse effect by applying the "average" filter to your video (from the "FX" library - then using customise filter to add key frames and change the cell size at each one so that the image hazes and clears as you want.

If that is not what you were after then try applying two or more filters to your video and customising them and get the desired effect.

Upgrading to X5 Ultimate might be in your future. That has some of the NewBlueFX Motion Effects, such as Rolling Wave. Two of the presets are "Mirage" and "Heat Rising."
