Intel Quick Sync & VideoStudio Pro X5 Ivy Bridge

Postby Alex Smith on Mon Apr 30, 2012 5:18 am

I read the thread which asked about VideoStudio Pro X4 using Quick Sync, but the conclusion seemed to be "probably not". Looking at the Tech Specs of VideoStudio Pro X5 there doesn't seem to be any mention of it?? :?

For those wondering why Quick Sync should be useful see Anandtech's review of Quick Sync Image Quality & Performance of Ivy Bridge i.e. maybe up to 5x hardware acceleration 8)

***Update***

Here's their response:

“We do use QuickSync for both encoder and decoder on Intel platform since SandyBridge. Yes it works well for IVB as well!”

Awesome thanks heaps Abiel Corel NA for asking. Great to hear it's already implemented! Maybe suggest they publicise that as I'm sure it would be a good selling point.

Any stats on how much acceleration Quick Sync gives VideoStudio Pro X5?

I'm preparing to buy new Ivy Bridge computer & want to spend the money on components that will make the biggest difference. Any suggestions?
